Naggar is the small town in the district Kullu, whereas it was the capital of Kullu in the ancientest time. I have been to this place several times & always I found something new here. This place looks like an old village. Where most of the houses made through pine tree woods & this wood never get failed to stop chilly winds & coastal water. Even most former constructed homes look more beautiful than concrete houses.

01) Jana Waterfall
When I visit Manali, then very first thing always comes in my mind. Let’s go to Naggar first. Because as its a relaxing place with adventure activities and best in tourist Places to visit in Manali.
Jana waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the laps of Himachal Pradesh, which is in the district of Kullu & near Manali as well.
Distance between Manali to Jana waterfall is around 40 km from Manali mall road. On the other side, the ways are perfect for riding to the restaurant area.
People come here through their bike or rent from Manali it’s self.
How to reach Manali to Jana waterfall?
As I mentioned above, the Jana waterfall is around 40 km from the mall road. It takes approx 1 hrs to reach the place. But that one hour journey is most beautiful. Because the way is perfectly lovely, you cannot stop your hands to click pictures on your gadgets.
You can hire a private cab from the Manali taxi stand. It will charge you around 1000-1500 for only Naggar sightseeing. But if you are going, Naggar then visits more excursion, which is more interesting.

There are a few activities you can enjoy on the height, such as Zipline, Mount Climbing & Bird watching. Usually, vendors charge INR 200-400 for Zipline of 500 meters. Make sure you are doing this activity on your risk because there is some possibility to breakfast the rope while transferring from one place to another. I had done it very safely.
- Bijli Mahadev By Jeep
Manali has many temples. One of them is Bijli Mahadev. Which is quite near to Jana waterfall, then the same lane leads to Bijli Mahadev. But that way is not so easy. So if you are planning with your friends & family, carry camps & everything with you. May you meet Jungle animals while driving.

Two ways lead to Bijli Mahadev one is through Kullu & the second one is from Janwaterfall.

You don’t have to go long. Just feel relaxed because two good dhaba’s are near the parking area of Jana waterfall & if you want to enjoy the Maggi. Then ready to trek for a maximum of 10 mins above. Because when you will reach to Maggi point. You will be glad to see the location where you are going to sit & eat.

There are two different dhaba’s near the parking area of the Jana waterfall. Both are serves the local dish separately & with thali also.

They charge per thali approx 150 in they provide ample food to eat.

Traditionally prepared wheat flour bread, walnut served with ghee and dal ( pulses )
- Saag with makka ki roti
This dish famous in Himachal & complete Punjab. Season green with channa roti.
Rajma is also known as the favourite dish of Punjabi.
- Green chutney
Green chutney is mix with green chilli, peppermint, red chilli, walnut, & salt.
- Red Rice
Red rice is the speciality of Manali. This variety of rice you will get in Manali only. It’s around INR 200 per kg. Red rice remains thick instead of other rice.

Manali has numerous specialities in food, whether it’s a non-veg or veg. Most of the restaurant has flashed the pictures of trout fish. But I would recommend you don’t eat the local market fish. Because it’s not sure, you will get the right trout fish.
There is a Himalayan trout fish farm in Hari Nagar near Naggar area. Where you may watch live trout fish catching, they serve only trout fish as a gravy with rice & full fry trout fish.
Special note:- If you are planning to eat trout in summer then, please read all these details below mentioned.
Trust fish quite warm. If you are not habitual to eat fish on alternative days, then take only single fish & you can share it with your partner because it is too warm also if you are planning in the winter period. Later max, you can try two fish for one person.

Naggar castle was the palace of Raja Jagat Singh in the later 16th Century. It was built through a wooden beam & river stone. It has been one of the modernize place in the medieval period. Which was the former capital of Kullu, as well. Naggar Castle is just 12 km from Manali mall road & it looks like a wooden place when you will enter it. Now the government has converted into the museum it, and When you enter the castle on the left side, they have made a beautiful restaurant where you can enjoy the veg & non-veg meal with trout fish. Chamunda Devi Temple in Nishala village Near Manali. The temple situated approx. 30 km from the main Manali and here I had seen the real natural beauty which I was exploring from a long time to see. The sky blue colour sides of the temple and head were of red colour. I could not visit the temple from inside because I reached there after 12 pm. Chamunda Devi temple is in nishala village. Here hardly 50 to 60 houses in this village. But the beauty of this village will attract you most. Temple is on the main road from aleo Naggar. It’s hardly 30 km from Manali mall road to chaumnda Temple. The deity of the temple says. There is a mighty power in the statue of Mata Chamunda inside the temple. The lush & green areas surround the temple. Which attracts those people most who live in the city or town.
