The quality of leather bags is never seen before, as I have seen in the Pushkar fair & reasonable market. I am a big lover of leather shoes, handbags & wallets. Even I have purchased a lot at a high cost. But when I went to a Pushkar Mela & asked for the price. I was shocked because of the price shopkeeper quoted to me that was half of I bought the bag last time from a nearby shop of my home & the quality even better. I am referring you to a shop address below which will help you to buy the things whenever you visit the Pushkar Mela.

Rajasthani Bengals are not easy to get in every market. So vendors usually avoid selling & customer avoids buying because of high prices. But in the Pushkar Mela that handmade item, you will get it very economical prices because there is not a moderator in the between of customer & maker.
Activities in the fair.
If you are coming from foreign, I would suggest you take a minimum of two days half in the Pushkar during the time of the Pushkar fair in Rajasthan. Because your whole day will be busy doing activities & purchasing things you will like — rest day for local sightseeing of Pushkar.

Camel riding is one of my favourites activities at any fair if it’s available. There are two types of camel riding you can do at the fair.
One is over the camel you have to seat & the second exists with the palki. The easiest one is with the palki & when you will sit side the palki. You will feel like a royal family member. Because of they decorate the complete palki inner & outer. T
How much time for a camel ride?
They will give you a 1-hour camel ride tour with palki, including the banjara show.
The starting and ending place remains the same for the camel ride. In which they show you the banjara show, Durjan Singh, haveli ( A part of Karan Arjun movie ). Now the complete haveli has been converted into the hotel. You can see it from the outside only.
Duration of complete round:- 1 hrs Charges per person:- 200 to 300 per person
Horse & camel riding is most popular in the whole Rajasthan. Because of the height of a tall horse in the entire state.

Banjara show usually presents during the evening time of Pushkar Mela. But camel rider knows when they play. Often, timing is during sunset when maximum foreigners come & visit the place. Because of noon remains hot.
Who is banjaras?
Banjaras are those people who don’t stay in a single state or city for a more extended period. They enjoy their life according to them & this culture origin place in Jaisalmer and Jodhpur. They wear Rajasthani traditionally clothes & speak Marwari a local language of Rajasthan. Ladies dance over the flute & Banjo’s rhythm.
I have seen many artists in my travel carrier, but Mr. Ajay Rawat is my favourite one. He is a local boy in Pushkar & he has won many prizes in the sand art competition. He has made around 7-8 sculptures by sand. One of my favourite ones is an Oldman in Rajasthani Turban & Sitting camel on the sand. I have shared the complete video of the art on my youtube channel as well.
Taste of Rajasthan
As well all know that Rajasthan is known as the cultural state in entire India where you will get traditional food to traditional clothes.
On my recent trip, I had experienced fantastic food of Rajasthan. The cuisine of Rajasthan remains spicy & hard to eat. But if I talk about the taste of the food. It is always the best. I have mentioned below cuisines of Rajasthan which I had tasted in the Pushkar fair.
Kadi Kachori & Kadhi with chilly green pagoda ( Indian fried snacks )
I had already kadi several times at my home itself. But I didn’t know that there is also a variety in kadi. The shopper has cut out the chilly green pakoda in a couple of pieces & mixed it with kadi.
Dal Baati Churma
Dal Baati Churma is a very famous dish in Uttar Pradesh & Rajasthan. It has been serving with Ghee ( Clarified butter ). Baati is a mixture of wheat flour with Rawa & Dal ( Pulses ) mixture of pulses. Churma is a mixture of wheat flour & sugar.
Kulhad wali chai ( Clay cups with tea )
Is a While sipping tea? You will feel a fragrance of ginger. You will get this tea near banjara dance point.
Italian food in Pushkar
Pawan & Ganga restaurant is the most famous in Pushkar. It’s in the Sadar bazaar of Pushkar & close to Pushkar lake. Both the restaurant serves Italian food.
How to reach in Pushkar Fair?
Pushkar is a small city in Rajasthan. Which do not have direct connectivity of trains from major cities? But yes you can reach here through two different transportation.
How to reach Delhi to Pushkar by road?
Delhi to Pushkar is approx 430 km. Volvo or train takes at least 8 hrs to Pushkar. But there are no direct trains available from Delhi to Pushkar. You will have to get down at the Ajmer Railway station. From there you can hire a private or sharing auto-rickshaw to the bus stand of Ajmer. There is a frequent bus plying from Ajmer to Pushkar. But the bus condition is not admirable. I would suggest if your pocket allows you to pay 1500-2500 extra. Then I would recommend you to go by taxi only. You will reach in 30 minutes Ajmer to Pushkar. But if you go by bus. You may feel the backache issue.
Delhi to Ajmer trains fare in sleeper class INR 350 to 500 per person
Delhi to Pushkar deluxe bus fare sleeper class INR 700 to 1000 per person
Ajmer to Puskar local bus INR 15 per person
En-route sightseeing Ajmer to Pushkar in 12-14 km journey
It was a fantastic experience when I travelled to Pushkar through Ajmer bus, But yes it was very tricky for me to handle the camera while standing on the local bus. The seating capacity was a maximum of 35-40 & more than 70 people were on the bus. It might be due to the densely crowd from other states.
While travelling from Ajmer to Pushkar, you will be mesmerised by an artificial l& big Ana Sagar lake built by the grandfather of Prithvi raj Chauhan in 1135-1150 D.
Maharana Pratap statue in Pushkar
Maharana Pratap was the Hindu 13th king of Mewar. He successfully resisted efforts of the Mughal emperor Akbar son of Humayun’s to conquer his area and is honoured as a hero in Rajasthan.
